Community Advice & Casework Support Service

Funded by the Crisis and Resilience Fund

Accessible Outreach, Advice First Aid, Digital Support and Specialist Casework Pathways

LDCA is expanding its community-based advice services through a new outreach project designed to help residents get the right support at the right time. By offering accessible drop-in sessions alongside specialist advice pathways, we aim to prevent problems from escalating into crisis and ensure people can access the help they need as early as possible.

Whether you need information, practical guidance, digital support, or specialist casework, our team

is here to help.

Extra drop-in advice starting in September.

What We Offer

Outreach Drop-In Advice Sessions

Our friendly drop-in sessions provide a welcoming, accessible space where residents can speak to an adviser without an appointment. We can help with:

  • General information and advice

  • Advice First Aid – practical support to help you understand your options and next steps

  • Digital support, including help accessing online services, completing forms, and improving confidence with technology

  • Identification of emerging issues before they become more serious

Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and focused on helping people find solutions as early as possible.

Specialist Advice and Casework

Some issues require more than initial information and guidance. Where residents need ongoing support, we can provide referrals into LDCA's specialist services, including:

  • Generalist Advice and Casework

  • Housing Advice and Casework

  • Disability and Welfare Rights Casework

  • Autism Advice Service

For residents facing complex challenges or multiple issues, our advisers can help ensure a smooth transition into the most appropriate specialist service.

Preventing Problems from Escalating

Our service is designed to provide earlier intervention for residents whose issues cannot be resolved through initial advice alone and who may be at risk of their situation worsening without structured support.

Through integrated outreach and casework pathways, we can:

  • Address problems before they reach crisis point

  • Support residents with multiple or complex needs

  • Reduce barriers to accessing advice and support

  • Improve outcomes through coordinated and timely intervention

  • Provide seamless referrals into specialist advice services

Accessible, Local and Responsive

LDCA's recent digital inclusion pilot demonstrated strong demand for accessible community-based support in Seaford. Our office provides an accessible and welcoming base for outreach delivery and multi-agency working.

As the project develops, we will explore opportunities to deliver sessions from additional community venues across the district, responding flexibly to local demand and emerging needs. We are committed to reaching underserved individuals and communities wherever possible, ensuring that support is available to those who may face barriers to accessing advice services.

Building Stronger Communities

This project will deliver wider benefits across the district by:

  • Increasing access to early advice and support

  • Reducing escalation into crisis and the need for emergency interventions

  • Creating integrated pathways between outreach advice and specialist casework

  • Expanding volunteer involvement and community reach

  • Supporting collaborative, partnership-based service delivery

  • Reducing pressure on statutory and crisis services through timely, preventative support

Our Vision

We believe that everyone should be able to access high-quality advice and support before problems become overwhelming. Through this new outreach service, LDCA will strengthen preventative advice provision, improve access to local services, and help residents build resilience, independence and confidence to manage future challenges.

Get advice early. Get the right support. Prevent problems from becoming crises.
