Trustees

Alison
Alison has lived in Lewes for over 20 years, having grown up in Eastbourne and worked in London and Suffolk before returning to the family firm, where she remains a non-exec director. She began volunteering with LDCA during the pandemic and became Chair in September 2023. Alison enjoys working with the team to support the local community and, in her spare time, sings with a chamber choir and dabbles in gardening.

Gavin
Gavin became a Trustee and Cabinet member in February 2024, bringing 16 years’ experience in digital transformation, cyber security, and ICT from roles at a leading UK telco and now a top Microsoft partner. He volunteers his time to support the charity’s mission, using his expertise to strengthen its digital and communications work. Having grown up and now living locally, Gavin finds it rewarding to give back to a charity that makes a real impact in the community.

Julia
Julia took early retirement in 2022, having moved to Seaford with her artist husband the previous year, and is a National Trust countryside volunteer at Sheffield Park and an RHS show garden volunteer.
“It’s a privilege to work with such a passionate and caring team who all strongly believe in a fairer and more equal community - a refreshing change from corporate life.”

Colin
Colin joined the Lewes District Citizens Advice trustee board in 2025. He strongly believes that Citizens Advice plays a vital role in the local community – providing free, impartial advice when it’s needed most. A Chartered Engineer by background, Colin has held global roles in operations, transformation and project management in the private sector. He brings experience in strategic planning, governance, and financial oversight to support the charity in delivering it’s objectives

Emma
Emma is the research and campaigns trustee, she works closely with about 5 volunteers who split their time between advising clients and research and campaigns. Our aim is to improve the policies and practises that affect the lives of Lewes District citizens. We do this by identifying issues in the local community, reviewing the data we have and producing reports or contacting MPs and councillors. Emma's favourite part is that it really feels as though we are making a long term positive impact on our local area.

Jane
Jane has lived in East Sussex for 23 years and been involved in the third sector since 2006. Working primarily in mental health and suicide prevention, she's enjoyed a variety of different roles including administration, fundraising research and advocacy. She was fortunate enough to work alongside Sarah Archer during her time as CEO of an organisation that supported and empowered autistic adults and is delighted to be working with her again for such an impactful organisation like the CAB.
In her spare time Jane enjoys long walks along the Sussex coast with her magical dog Lola, writing and music.
