We are delighted to announce that we have recently expanded our accredited services to include a new area of specialism in housing casework. This builds on our existing AQS-accredited expertise in welfare rights and disability casework.

This new accreditation reflects our continued dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our clients and ensuring that those facing housing issues can access trusted, professional, and effective support.

For people facing housing difficulties, quality advice matters. Whether someone is experiencing an eviction threat, homelessness, poor housing conditions or the struggle of navigating social housing and benefits, knowing where to turn can make all the difference.

What makes our housing service distinctive is that our support goes beyond advice alone.

As Housing Caseworker Helen explains:

“We will not just advise, we will pursue issues.”

While advice can help people understand their rights and options, casework goes a step further. Our housing team can work directly with landlords, local authorities and other organisations to help resolve problems, supporting clients through stressful situations.

We regularly assist with homelessness, Section 21 and Section 8 notices, housing conditions and disrepair, rent and mortgage arrears, housing benefit issues, and social and retirement housing.

Housing problems are often closely linked to debt, rising living costs and poor health. As an Advice Quality Standard accredited advice service, we are committed to providing trusted, high-quality support that helps people understand their rights and navigate the systems and processes that affect them.

If you are experiencing housing difficulties and need support, Lewes District Citizens Advice is here to help.
