Thank you to all our volunteers

This week is national Volunteers Week and we want to celebrate the amazing contribution that our volunteers make to LDCA, to the individuals they help and to their wider community. Volunteering is a vital component of UK society, with millions contributing their time and skills annually. Our volunteers at LDCA vastly increase the services and support that we can offer to local residents. Volunteers help us in a wide variety roles, from fully trained advisors to marketing volunteers, community fundraising volunteers and trustees. Many of our volunteers have supported for us for many years, some stay for less time- all are hugely valued and appreciated. We are holding an afternoon tea on Tuesday 2nd June as a small way of saying a massive thank you.

In 2025, our volunteers gave over 12,000 hours of volunteering.

The financial value of this volunteering was wroth almost £350,000.

14.2 million people in the UK have formally volunteered at least once a month.

Volunteering added £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024.
